Course

The 2010 course proved to be fast and spectator-friendly with a 13 mile loop of the city showcasing the visual beauty of the city. The male winner of the 50km World Trophy Final, run in conjunction with the marathon, set a championship best. The female winner set the fastest time of 2010 and also a world record for her age group.

The 2011 courses will start and finish on the Seapoint Promenade in Salthill, Galway and the new Mini-Marathon route is very flat and fast. The marathon course will loop the city once again but it will also incorporate some of the wonderful environs of the adjacent countryside in a single circuit. The first section will encompass the East of Galway and the second section the West. This will be a managed course with professional marshals from Sword Security throughout the route.
